The National AfterSchool Association (NAA) was recently honored with the Alliance’s Healthy Out-of-School Time (HOST) Hero Award during our America’s Healthiest Schools Leaders Summit.

I recently had the pleasure of chatting with NAA’s Vice President Heidi Ham to learn about current trends in afterschool and how NAA is providing essential professional development to strengthen the field.

First question Heidi. What should our readers and America’s Healthiest Schools know about the National AfterSchool Association?

HEIDI: “We are the only national membership organization for professionals who work with children during afterschool time, on the weekends and during the summer. We exist to inspire, connect and equip professionals in this space.  As part of our mission, we are committed to helping afterschool professionals partner with schools in fostering a culture of health.”
