The Ohio Afterschool Network, with generous support from the National League of Cities (NLC), cordially invites municipal leaders and their city planning teams to participate in an outcomes-focused summit which will illustrate how policy makers and state and municipal leaders can leverage Afterschool and Summer Learning programs as solutions to city issues.

The goal of this summit is to inform municipal leaders about the powerful benefits of Afterschool and Summer Learning Programs, as well as the great need and demand for them in Ohio. We aim to inspire local elected officials to take action back at home and to use their bully pulpit to champion the issues with their state legislators. The summit will provide the opportunity for mayoral and city council member champions of Afterschool and Summer Learning Programs to share their reasons and strategies for investing in and supporting Afterschool as a successful approach to addressing city concerns in their community.  The day will include opening remarks by The Honorable Matt Zone, NCL’s incoming president and Cleveland city council member, and will feature several key mayors from across the state, in addition to other prominent champions of Afterschool and Summer Learning Program.
