ABOUT THE ORIENTATION (Wednesday, October 17th)
The mandatory All-Grantee 21st Century and McKinney Vento Orientation will be held on October 17, 2018. At least one staff member from the awarded organization must attend the orientation. We will have pertinent trainings and updated for new and continuing grantees, with breakfast and lunch provided.
ABOUT THE SUMMIT (Thursday, October 18 & Friday, October 19)
2019 Statewide Summit for Enrichment and Education – Extra, Extra: Broadcasting the Benefits of Expanded Learning
We are bringing together over five hundred 21st Century Community Learning Center and McKinney Vento Program Managers, Program Coordinators, 1st Time Treasurers – all involved in creating, implementing and supporting quality, vulnerable youth programming, after-school/out-of-school and summer programming to Ohio’s K-12 youth.
Workshops will be offered as forums for strengthening professional knowledge, sharing best practices, addressing the needs of vulnerable youth, linking after-school activities to school day instruction, preparing students for 21st century skills, and developing a peer-based network. Workshop tracks include: Positive Youth Engagement, Family and Community Engagement, Administration and Leadership, Education and Achievement & Fiscal Responsibility.
An evening reception will be held for attendees and special guests on Thursday, October 18th, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. Grantees will also be honored at the FY19 Statewide Summit Awards Ceremony on October 19th, from 9:30 – 10:30 AM. Please plan to attend – the reception is included in your registration cost!

Important Notice: Seeking Nominations for Outstanding Programs & Individuals
The Ohio Department of Education – Office of Improvement and Innovation, 21st Century Community Learning Centers and McKinney Vento are seeking nominations for outstanding programs in the following areas:
* Academic Improvement in Reading and Math (21st CCLC only),
* Positive Youth Development,
* Parent and Family Engagement,
* College and Career Readiness, and
* Drop Out Prevention.
An individual will be awarded based on how they exceeded expectations and played a vital role in affecting student achievement, youth development and family engagement.
Awards will be announced at the 21st Century Community Learning Center and McKinney Vento Statewide Summit for Enrichment and Education.
