The next OAN Quarterly meeting will continue the network’s new “value added” approach to membership and continue to encourage active member participation. In addition to state and federal legislation and policy updates and news from OAN, this meeting will feature a motivating speaker who will connect, resonate and inspire us and give us ways that we can become even more effective leaders in our organizations.
Dr. Chip Tell is a practicing clinically trained Psychologist who also provides executive and career consultation, assessment, selection, and leadership development services for some of the most prestigious companies in central Ohio. Dr. Tell has agreed to address our membership and talk about some of the most challenging leadership issues we face in our field and provide a few tools we can use today in our jobs.
In addition, join Membership Committee Chairs Pam Steurer and Keving Gilmore for a pre-meeting session for new OAN Members. The New Member Orientation will be from 9:30AM – 10:30AM and help all of our new members understand their membership benefits and learn about opportunities to advance Afterschool and Summer Learning in our state.
Afternoon breakout sessions will include…
ADVOCACY – What’s next? How to leverage your Lights On Afterschool event to continue conversations with stakeholders and decision makers
QUALITY PROGRAMS – Get a sneak peek into OAN’s new Afterschool Professionals’ Learning Community with McWatter’s Consulting and EnvisionEdPlus. Hear more about the PDPlus platform and the Weaving the Web and STEM/STEAM PD sessions this team is offering.
POLICY DISCUSSION – How will the new “One SUTQ Star By 2020” rule affect access to Afterschool in our state? Join OAN Director Nichelle Harris for a deep dive into this impending policy change… how it will affect access for our most at-risk youth? What resources are available to open conversations with your stakeholders? What are OAN’s strategies to communicate how important this issue for our state?
