OAN is also excited to announce a partnership between OAN and KBrinkman and Associates, LLC for lobbying and advocacy services.

Although K. Brinkman & Associates was only established in July 2009, founder Kristen Brinkman is no newcomer to the public policy arena in Ohio.  In fact, it could be said that she was a lobbyist before she could walk.

She was born into a lobbyists’ family, her dad having had a highly successful career as an Ohio lobbyist for almost 40 years.  In fact, Kristen started working political campaigns when she was still in grade school, her first campaign involvement was for John Kasich, when he began his political career.  A 1992 graduate of Ohio University with a degree in political science, Kristen went to work for Jo Ann Davidson as an aide and campaign manager and became Mrs. Davidson’s assistant when Jo Ann became Speaker of the Ohio House in 1994.

In addition to her work for Speaker Davidson, Kristen’s background includes work for the President of the Ohio Senate, and legislative aide to a state senator.

Her lobbying career started in 1996 when she was named legislative director of the Ohio Homebuilders Association.  Two years later, she joined her father’s firm, by then one of the most successful independent lobbying firms in Ohio. She became vice president of the firm and later its president.

Her success as a lobbyist and as a business leader was recently recognized by Columbus Business First, when the newspaper named her one of  “Forty Under 40”, an annual tribute to young business leaders in the Central Ohio area.  In addition to operating her own business and raising two children, Kristen also serves on the Ohio Chamber of Commerce Public Affairs Committee, is a board member of Children’s Hunger Alliance, serves by gubernatorial appointment on the Ohio Hepatitis C Advisory Commission and is on the advisory board for the national organization, Support Our Troops.

Kristen Brinkman will be joining OAN’s monthly advocacy calls and supporting the network strategically as we prepare our advocacy goals and agenda.

Welcome, Kristen!
