The Future City Competition is a flexible, cross-curricular educational program that gives students an opportunity to do the things that engineers do—identify problems; brainstorm ideas; design solutions; test, retest and build; and share their results. Student teams, working with an educator and a local engineering mentor, develop solutions to pressing challenges facing our cities today and in the future.  Future City strives to inspire students to pursue careers in STEM fields such as engineering, planning, architecture and project management.

Leading up to the Ohio Region competition on January 14th, students will research city planning and engineering topics, author an essay, test concepts in SimCity, build a physical model (using recycled materials) and prepare a presentation to explain their ideas.  The winning team receives a trip to Washington DC to represent Ohio at the national level. Please visit for additional details. Please submit registration information: Register for FCC 2017.  The deadline is Wednesday, November 9th at 5:00 PM EST.
