“Ohio’s after school programs are currently held to high standards and are doing amazing things for the lives of children. Grants should be awarded for next year (fiscal year 18) using the same standards we are currently operating under. Then, if new standards need to be implemented based on ESSA, they could do so in the RFA for fiscal year 19. It is absurd to leave children, families and employees without programming for the next school year. The money is there to fund more programs, so fund them!! It is not the fault of the children, families or employees that the alignments are not in place.”
