OAN Quality Programs Committee

The Quality Programs Committee is chaired by Archer Thomas and April Porter and currently has three objectives:

  1. Define community of practice pathways
  2. Measure the climate of investment in quality professional development
  3. Evaluate the implementation of the QSAT

OAN Advocacy Committee

The Advocacy Committee is chaired by Tricia Moore with support from OAN staff. The Advocacy committee currently has three objectives:

  1. Build relationships with key stakeholders to identify Afterschool Champions in Ohio
  2. Increase stakeholder participation in Afterschool and Summer Learning Advocacy events (Lights on Afterschool, Summer Learning Day, Afterschool Professionals Appreciation day, Statehouse Day)
  3. Help determine and guide OAN’s policy agenda to advance OAN’s mission and vision

OAN STEM Committee

The Ohio Afterschool Network STEM Committee strives to:

  • Increase the quality and depth of regional and statewide partnerships in support of out-of-school time (OST) STEM learning opportunities.
  • Increase frequency, intensity, duration, and quality of STEM learning opportunities for youth in OST programs.
  • Increase staff competence, confidence, and motivation to facilitate STEM learning opportunities.
  • Increase youth interest, engagement, and knowledge of STEM.

This committee is chaired by Heather Sherman.

OAN Membership Committee

The Membership Committee is chaired by Kevin Gilmore and Nikki Mills. This committee is dedicated to welcoming and on-boarding new OAN members, to defining membership value and to helping membership priorities.

OAN Communication Committee

The Communication Committee is led by Laura Clark and is responsible for designing communications for stakeholders including strategic planning, information to membership, working with network committees to design targeted messages for advocacy, and using social media to advance network communications.

OAN Regional Hubs

OAN’s five regional hubs are your opportunity to connect with OAN close to home. Each of our Regional Hub Chairs are experienced, well-respected experts in the field who convene direct service providers to share best practices and network. Each hub works with other regional organizations for comprehensive collaboration.

OAN Strategic Leadership Team

The Strategic Leadership Team provides leadership, strategic direction, meaningful linkages and focus to allow OAN to make sustained and high-impact contributions to OAN’s mission.  This committee is comprised of all committee chairs and the Executive Leadership Team. OAN Executive Committee

The OAN Executive Leadership Team (or ELT) consists of four members of the Strategic Leadership Team to provide oversight, guidance and support for the OAN Director and is responsible for setting the strategic goals and scope of the network. For more information, contact Chair Pamela Steurer.


Website Reboot Committee

OAN has received a grant to re-design the OAN website. Join this ad-hoc committee to help review the development of this new OAN communications tool.


Data Map Committee

In Autumn 2020 OAN will begin communications encouraging program participation in the OST data mapping project. A review of the current data collected is needed. OAN will assemble a team for a series of meetings to evaluate and update the data map. Join this ad-hoc committee to lend your expertise on the information needed post COVID19 on the map.


Conference Planning Committee

This ongoing committee will help with the planning of Central Ohio OTAGS Conference and the 2021 Best Foot Forward Statewide Conference for OST Professionals. OTAGS will occur in August and the BFF Conference will occur in February, with RFP review starting now. Please consider weighing in on what PD will be needed next winter at this event.
